What We Cover

Movies don’t exist in a vacuum. Every film carries the fingerprints of the era that made it, the audience that received it, and the culture that either embraced it or let it quietly disappear. Fused Film lives in that space — between what was and what is — and finds the thread that connects them.

The VHS Era & Blockbuster Fridays

We grew up on Friday night rentals, hand-rewound tapes, and covers that promised more than the movie delivered. We revisit the films that shaped a generation of viewers who learned to love cinema from a cardboard shelf.

Reboots, Revivals & Sequels

Hollywood keeps returning to the well. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Fused Film breaks down why — what the original got right, what the reboot missed, and whether nostalgia is an asset or a liability when you’re trying to make something new.

Streaming Deep Dives

From Netflix originals to Disney+ drops to the chaos of peak TV, streaming has changed how we consume stories. We examine what that shift means for film as an art form — and for us as an audience.

Why Fused Film Exists — And Where It Came From

Fused Film didn’t start as a podcast. It started as a fan news site with the desire to become a media company.

FusedFilm.com launched in the mid-2000s with a singular conviction: Hollywood, by the fans, for the fans. What began as a passion project grew into a full entertainment media network — featuring original columns, film interviews, news coverage, video content, trailer roundups, giveaways, and a suite of original shows including Fused TV, Entertainment Overload, Trailer Watch, and The Pitch.

At its peak, FusedFilm.com was part of a network of fan-driven film sites alongside MovieViral, TrailerAddict, and Between the Panels — covering everything from Disney animation to sci-fi franchises to Hollywood’s emerging viral marketing era. Kevin was appearing as a guest on podcasts across the film community as early as 2009, representing FusedFilm.com on GateWorld, MovieViral’s ViralCast, and beyond.

This wasn’t a blog. It was a newsroom built by people who loved movies too much to just watch them.

Over time the media landscape shifted. Streaming swallowed the entertainment web. The era of fan-built film sites gave way to algorithm-driven content. But the conviction never changed.

The Fused Film Podcast is where that conviction lives now — distilled into audio, twice a month, with Kevin Coll and Vactor asking the same question the site always asked: what makes movies matter, and why does it still count?
